Photographic Safari: Mount Roraima
Come hone your technique and enhance your awareness,
while exploring a fascinating region. Accompanied by the photographer
Peter Feibert,
you will travel through the unique landscape of the Gran Sabana, in Venezuela!
Hiking on the savannah, from where the tepuis emerge, swimming in rivers,
enjoying waterfalls and passing through indian villages,
you will walk up Mount Roraima, to 2,700m (8,100ft) above sea level.
The top of a tepui is an incomparable experience:
the rock formations resemble sculptures; the flora is made up mostly of orchids and
bromeliads, many endemic; the weather and the light change at every moment,
which motivates you to photograph; in other words, you will visit an inspiring place,
bringing back the best images, made by yourself.

preparatory meeting for the trip, in Rio de Janeiro;

photography as we travel;

starting in Boa Vista, state of Roraima, Brazil,
until the return to that city:
transfer from, and to the airport, hotels, transportation, meals, guides,
1 porter for each traveler, camp site.

Itinerary:

1 week before departure: Preparatory meeting in Rio de Janeiro;

Day 1: Meeting at Tom Jobim airport, Rio de Janeiro
(those resident elsewhere may fly directly to Boa Vista, Roraima,
and the receptive will take them to the hotel);
Flight to Boa Vista, Roraima, Brazil;
Transfer to the hotel;

Day 2: Transfer to Santa Elena de Uairén, Venezuela;
Drive to the Jaspe River;
Return to Santa Elena;

Day 3: Drive to Paraitepuy;
Walk to Kukenan camp;

Day 4: Walk to Mount Roraima base camp;

Day 5: Walk up to Mount Roraima;

Day 6: Exploration of Mount Roraima;

Day 7: Exploration of Mount Roraima;

Day 8: Walk down from Mount Roraima and on to Kukenan camp;

Day 9: Walk to Paraitepuy;
Return drive to Santa Elena;
